Jean
Patou revolutionized fashion and couture has never looked
back since. Jean Patou was the inventor of sportswear, designing
the first cardigan, the first tennis skirt, and the first
knit bathing suit. Jean Patou was also the first couturier
to use his initials as a stylistic motif. After the 1929 stock
market crash, most of his clients could not afford his couture
designs, yet he had the incredible daring to launch Joy, the
"costliest perfume in the world" -- a gift and creation
that would simply provide "Joy" to the world. Joy
continues to be one of the most memorable and coveted scents
due to its unmistakeable flavour and sensuality. |
